Perception vs. Reality

If I see a green dot, is there a green dot?  My senses show me a green dot, but there are really only pink dots.  How do I know the dots are really pink?  Check out this optical illusion. (Is it an illusion?  Maybe the pink dots are the illusion.) (Via Homann)
