Today is my wife's last day at her current job - a patent associate at a large law firm. In a couple of weeks she will begin working as patent counsel in the media group of a Fortune 500 company. Ordinarly a person doesn't go in-house until after she has worked for several years at a law firm.
But my wife is different. She graduated law school two years ago, and will only be 27 on her first day at her new job. She beat out numerous other lawyers who had many more years of law firm experience.
Congratulations to my wife, who was able to have her many late nights of work pay off; and congratulations to the company that had the ability to recognize her brilliance.
