Overcriminalization Flashback: David McNab

Jonathon Rauch (pass-through link) notes the horrible injustice David McNab has faced due to overzealous prosecutors and rampant overcriminalization.  McNab is literally serving nearly a decade in prison for importing undersized lobster tails.  I noted McNab's plight in 2004, when reviewing a book that, sadly, is timeless.  For a look at what happens when prosecutors forget (assuming they ever knew!) that their first duty is to "seek justice," check out Go Directly to Jail: The Criminalization of Almost Everything.
