David Motari Abuses Animals? Part 2

The mainstream media has begun covering this shocking story of animal cruelty.  One article is available here.  Based on David Motari's family's behavior, I am now 99% sure that David Motari is the man depicted in the video:

First:

The Herald is not publishing the man’s name because of the many questions surrounding the video.

No one can say yet whether the 17-second video is a hoax or really shows a live puppy being killed. It’s unclear where the video was created and who actually shot the video or posted it on the Internet.

Notice that there is no indication that David Motari is not the alleged puppy killer in the video.

Second:

A woman at the home listed for the Marine declined to talk.

"Could you just leave? We already know why you're here," the woman said. "Just go. There’s nothing to say."

I assume that was his wife or girlfriend.  If Motari was not the person depicted in that video, you can bet that she would have let the world know.  Instead, she sent the media away.

The next issue is whether the puppy was alive.  Based on my experience with puppies, I conclude that the puppy was alive.  One veterinarian agrees:

"If this is something legitimate, it's one of the most egregious acts of animal cruelty I have ever seen, if not the most," said Dr. Matt Mickas, chief of Community Practice Services at WSU’s veterinary college.

He said it did not appear fake to him, because of the way the animal went slack by being held from the neck.

"To me, the sound on the YouTube clip sounded like a puppy in distress — the same sound we hear when the puppies come into the hospital," Mickas said.

I find the civilian casualties horrifying as wel, but they are, unfortunately, part of war, whether justified or not. The puppy never moves. I have never known a puppy to not move especially once free from being held like that. If you look at it's motion in the air it moves end over end. The body doesn't move as if rigamortis has begun or already set in. Once in the air the puppy if alive would have been seen writhering around. Even when he jolted the puppy back if it was still alive it would have been limp and not so stiff.

It's still not a nice video but I'm not convinced the puppy was alive anymore.

I'm astounded by not just this incident but the many other incidents of animal cruelty going on over there. I just watch a video of a bunch of soldiers destroying livestock, a main source of income for many iraq's. Just like the farmers here. I think one of the most upsetting videos I saw was of a u.s . soldier shooting a dog because he said it tried to attack him. Yet in the video the dog is about fifty feet away from him minding his own as the soldier yells out "pull" and fires a round or two into the dog. As the dog rives in pain the owner comes out and just kneels next to the dog unable to help him or do anything against the armed soldiers. I think its time for those boys to come home before they make things worse and people start to hate them.

First of all a "soldier" is someone in the Army. This guy accused is a Marine. GI is the generic term to call all troops. I'm sure with your background you know this, just informing your readers.

The Herald is awaiting facts, not speculation that is why they haven't condemned this guy yet, nothing more.
And just because someone knows why the media is there and they aren't denying anything, really doesn't mean a damn thing. So what gives you the expertise to judge other's behavior. I don't see psychiatry in your bio, but as someone in the legal field I would expect better of you.

A Marine Patrol in central Iraq come across a mother dog and her pups, she and most of the puppies are dead but one is still alive but very sick. They can't take it with them, it would probably die on the way and if it survived it might infect other rescued puppy dogs and kitty-cats at the base. It would be cruel to leave it to die in the sun. Do you....
(a). Try to break its neck with a sudden jerking motion?
(b). Stomp on its head with a rifle butt or the heal of your boot?
(c). Use a bullet that you would have to account for to your platoon officer or the Quarter-master?
(d). Toss it over a nearby cliff thereby swiftly ending its life but not having to see it die?
We really don't know the circumstance behind this act. Lets wait from some actual facts
