"Spitzer, Stop Torturing The Wife"

Mike

Maggie Gallagher makes some good points in her latest column on Elliot Spitzer.  Check it out.

She also makes awfully sexist points?

Because we no longer have any public punishments for adultery, we have turned wives into instruments of the public morality: If she doesn't punish him by divorcing him, he will go unpunished, which is intolerable. (Without some punishment, won't all husbands stray?)
Maggie is free to think of her own husband as a dog, but I would prefer that she leave me out of her stereotypes.

I think Megan Garber provides a much more thoughtful analysis in the Columbia Journalism Review.
