I do not oppose lawyer marketing or lawyer advertising. I even respect a certain amount of hustle. There's a line between hustle and shyster-scum-bag-shameless-slime-ball, though. Kirk Bernard crossed it.
After a car crash nearly killed someone's child, Kirk Bernard wrote a blog post:
Washington Car Crash Kills Couple from Vancouver and Critically injures Son
A five-year-old Vancouver boy and his parents were in a serious car accident in Washington on Sunday near Chelan. The boy is in critical condition in a Seattle hospital and the crash claimed the life of his parents.

I am not going to link to his post, as that would give him Google juice. However, anyone wondering whether they should hire Kirk Bernard should consider whether you want such a slime ball representing you. For some, he might be the right guy.
Then again, anyone who seeks to shamelessly profit from someone's misery would certainly gleefully profit from yours.
When I hire a lawyer, I want someone with class, decency, and empathy. Anyone who would make that blog post lacks all three. I don't know Kirk Bernard, but I wouldn't trust him to represent me in a parking ticket dispute. Consider yourself warned.
